This, that and another thing…

Busy week at the school. As I mentioned earlier in the week, we hosted a collegial visit team from the Cristo Rey Network. It was a wonderful discussion. They made some suggestions that I am excited about implementing. These ideas should help us continue our path to becoming a great school. They complimented us on the committed staff, faculty and the obvious dedication to the students. Overall, they said that for a second year school, we were right where we should be.

I was particularly pleased that they said they could tell they were in a Catholic school as soon as they walked in the door. I have to tell you that many visitors comment to me on the special feeling they get immediately upon entering our building.

Today we will have our honors assembly for first semester achievement in academics, work performance and behavior. I enjoy the opportunity to see students recognized for their excellent results. It is also a chance to remind them that grades do matter.

We may have a chance to get the Detroit Cristo Rey High School story out on the local airwaves next week. Details to follow!
